I just wanted to take a moment to give thanks and praise for our wonderful neighbors in Charlotte. I have full confidence that God allowed us to be neighbors for a reason and that we were blessed by having them as neighbors. Brendan and Stephie quickly became our Charlotte family. Our first official meeting was during our first Christmas in Charlotte. Beau had been given a fire pit and we were going to roast marshmallows. Clara went to invite all the neighbors and even though they had driven for 12 hours, they accepted the invitation. By the end of the 30 minute marshmallow roasting, we learned Stephie was from Chicago, Brendan from Australia/New Zealand. They both had cool jobs...Brendan was a golf caddy for the PGA and Stephie did a lot of neat marketing. That was the beginning of a great relationship. Over the past 4 years Brendan and Stephie have been an extension of our hands when we needed them. From running to the store to get Gatorade for a sick baby to baby sitting to dog sitting to always having the missing ingredient ththey have been there for the Leonards. Our children love them with a love that will always be in them. All of us feel so blessed to have had them as our neighbors, but more importantly we are so thankful for the "family" they are to us.
Stephie and Kiwi - may God bless you for the love and kindness you have shown us, may He put His hand over your life, your marriage and your home. We love you both so much and we already miss you bunches. We will miss our daily talks on the porch and having you as a part of all of the happenings at our house. But we look forward to all the new memories that we will make and the fun times that we will have together. We hope to see you at Thanksgiving - we'll have the bleu cheese and canasta cards ready.
