With that said...

Yesterday the girls made their posters, sang "God Bless America" and chanted "We are republicans and Obama is a dumb butt democrat!" They giggled, squealed and prepared for Election Night as a cheerleader does getting ready for the big ballgame.
But as dusk came and it was time to settle them for bed, I felt a nudging of the Holy Spirit to remind the girls that if our Team took a loss that we had to respect and pray for the other team.
A friend (thanks Kari) of mine reminded me of this verse today....

I Timothy 2:1-4
I urge, then, first of all, that requests, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for everyone - for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness. That is good and pleases God our Saviour who wants all men to be saved and come to a knowledge of the truth.

Now, we as Christians are called to pray for Barack Obama. We are to pray that He will lead our Nation in a way that is pleasing to God. May his heart be softened to the things of the Holy Spirit and may our Nation prosper under his leading.
